FINAL DRIVE
Replace the pinion gear shim w ith a thicker one if
the contact pattern i3 too high, toward the focc.
Replace the pinion gear shim w ith a thinner one if
the contact pattern is too ow, toward the flank.
The patterns w ill shift about 1.5 - 2.0 mm (0.06 -
0.08 in) when the thickness of the shim is changed
by 0.1 mm (0.004 in).

gear case (page 14-15).
RING GEAR REMOVAL/SHIM
REPLACEMENT
Remove the final gear case cover (page 14-10).
Press the ring gear out of the gear case cover using
the special tools and hydraulic press.
TOOLS:

Remove the oil seal.
