SECONDARY AIR SUPPLY SYSTEM
SYSTEM INSPECTION
S tart the engine and w arm it up u ntil the coolant
tem perature is 80 °C (176 °F).
Stop the engine.
Remove the a ir cleaner elem ent (page 4-6).
Check th a t th e secondary a ir intake p o rt is clean and
free o f carbon deposits.
Check the PAIR check valves if the port fo r carbon
fo u lin g (page 6-73).
S tart the engine and open the th ro ttle slig h tly to be
certain th a t air is sucked in through the a ir supply
hose.
If th e a ir is not draw n in, check the a ir su pply hoses
fo r clogs and the PAIR solenoid valve (page 6-72).
