NEUTRAL OIL PRESSURE SWITCH

INSPECTION
Remove the right side cover (page 3-14).
Turn the gnition switch OFF.
Remove the dust cover.
Remove the bolt/washer and disconnect the neutral
oil pressure switch wire.
Check for continuity between the neutral oil pres­
sure switch terminal and ground.
There should be continuity when the engine is
stopped (no oil pressure).
If there should be no continuity, replace the neutral
oil pressure switch.
Install the right side cover (page 3-14).
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the right side cover (page 3-14).
Remove the dust cover.
Remove the bolt/washer and disconnect the neutral
oil pressure switch wire.
Remove the neutral oil pressure switch.
Apply liquid sealant (Three Bond 1270B or equiva­
D o n o t apply
lent) to the neutral oil pressure switch threads as
sealant to the
shown.

NOTE:
-
(0.1 0.2 in)
• Keep the foreign matters and sealant out from
the HFT oil passages, as they could cause HFT
malfunction.
Install and tighten the neutral oil pressure switch to
the specified torque.
TORQUE: 12 N-m (1.2 kgf-m, 9 Ibf-ft)
Connect the neutral oil pressure switch wire and
tighten the bolt/washer to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 1.9 N-m (0.19 kgf-m, 1.4 Ibf-ft)
Install the dust cover.
