ENGINE REASSEMBLY

Reassemble the engine in the reverse order of disassembly. The following steps require special atten-
tion or precautionary measures should be taken.
NOTE:
Apply engine oil to each running and sliding part before reassembling.

CRANKSHAFT

• When installing the crankshaft into the crankcase, it is
necessary to pull its left end into the left crankcase with
the special tools.

CAUTION
Never install the crankshaft into the crankcase by
striking it with a plastic hammer. Always use the spe-
cial tool, otherwise crankshaft may be misaligned.
• Apply engine oil to the crankshaft bearings.
• Install the balancer shaft drive gear .
NOTE:
Make sure that the hole in the drive gear is aligned with the
pin on the crankshaft.

BALANCER SHAFT

• Install the balancer shaft

TRANSMISSION

• Install the countershaft and driveshaft assemblies.
