TROUBLESHOOTING

No spark or poor spark
Check the ignition system couplers for poor
connections.
Correct
Measure the battery voltage between in put

lead wires (O/W and B/W) at the igni ter
with the ignition switch in the "ON" position.
Measure the ignition
coil primary
peak
voltage. (See p. 6-
20.) NOTE: The ignition coil peak voltage
inspection method is applicable only with

Inspect the ignition coil.

Measure the pick-up coil peak voltage and
resistance. (See pp. 6-22 and -23.) NOTE:
The pick -up coil peak voltage inspection is
applicable only with the multi circuit tester
and the peak volt adaptor.

* Check that the transmission is in neutral and the engine
stop switch is in the "RUN" position. Grasp the clutch
lever. Check that the fuse is not blown and the battery
is fully-charged before diagnosing.
