Starter Relay Inspection - Suzuki GZ250 Service Manual

• Apply a small quantity of SUZUK I MOLY PAS TE to the
armat ure shaft.
99000-25140: SUZUKI MOLY P ASTE
• Apply SUZUK I SUPE R GREASE "A" to the O-rings.
99000-25010: SUZUKI SUP ER GREAS E "A"
• Apply a small quantity of THREAD LOCK "1342" to the
starter motor housing bolts.
99000-32050: THREAD LOCK "1342"

STARTER RELAY INSPECTION

• Remove the front seat and right frame cover. (See p.
5-1.)
• Disconnect the battery lead wire
• Remove the starter relay cover
• Disconnect the starter motor lead wires
relay lead wire coupler
• Remove the starter relay.
Apply 12 volts to terminals
continuity between the positive and negative terminals. If
the starter relay clicks and continuity is found, the relay is
ok.
09900-25008: Multi circuit tester set
Tester knob indication: Continuity test (•))) )
A CAUTION
Do not apply battery voltage to the starter relay
for more than five secondes.
This may overheat and damage the relay coil.
