Installing and Using the Printer Driver
The printer driver is provided on the "EPSON EPL-5800L Printer
Software" CD-ROM shipped with your printer. It allows you to
control your printer with Windows Me/98/95/2000, NT
Mac OS 8.1 and later. With it, not only can you make basic printer
settings like paper size and orientation, but you also have access
to a whole range of other options that will help you optimize the
use of your printer.
When you install the printer driver, the EPSON Status Monitor 3
utility is also automatically installed. This utility gives you the
option to view printer information such as the remaining amount
of toner, and can be set up to notify you of errors when they occur.
Refer to the Reference Guide for more information on the utility.
For Windows Users
Your computer must meet the following requirements to use the
Windows driver included with the printer:
The computer must be running Microsoft Windows Me, 98,
95, 2000 or NT 4.0
The computer must have 10 MB of free hard disk space
Note:
If your computer has been upgraded from Windows 95 or 98 to
Windows Me, uninstall the current printer driver, then install or
reinstall the Windows 98 printer driver.
Follow the steps below to install the printer driver:
1. Make sure that the printer is off and that Windows is running.
