Principles of Operation

The AERO.qc processing structures support up to six channels of main audio input. Dis-
crete 5.1 channel audio can be applied, or two channel audio can be upmixed to 5.1 chan-
nels if desired. Input audio is first passed through a user adjustable +/-18dB attenuator to
allow a manual adjustment of an incoming program. Apply audio, watch the meters and
adjust the attenuator until the results are as desired. If the optional processing core is in-
stalled, picking a preset will automate this process further and allow single pass operation.
Specific processing presets and adjustments are discussed in Chapter 7.
Figure 1-1 shows the internal audio path of the AERO.qc. It should be noted that this di-
agram is a general representation of signal flow. Please consult the appropriate section of
this manual for specific functionality.
