TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
Circuit breaker trips
or fuse blows when
unit is turned on.
Unit turns on or o
by itself.
Lights dim in room
while the unit is on.
Power cord gets
warm.
Fireplace does not

Possible Cause
1. Short in unit wiring.
2. Improper circuit current rating.
1. Remote control has a similar frequency
to other remotes in the area.
2. Radio frequency disturbance from
outside sources.
3. Defective circuit board.
1. Unit is drawing close to circuit current
rating.
1. Normal Operation.
2. Defective power cord.
1. Improper operation.
2. Remote control not initialized to
replace.
3. Defective main on/o switch.
4. Defective remote control.
5. Defective remote control switch.

Corrective Action
1. Trace wiring in unit.
2. Additional appliances may exceed
the current rating of the circuit
breaker or fuse. Plug unit into
another outlet or install unit on a
dedicated 15 amp circuit.
1. Change hand held frequency.
2. Replace hand held remote
control and reciever box were
necessary.
3. Replace circuit board.
Move the unit to another outlet
or install unit on a dedicated
15 amp circuit.
1. The power cord may get
slightly warm to the touch
when the heater is on.
2. Replace power cord if cord gets
hot to the touch.
1. Refer to instruction manual.
2. Initialize the remote control.
3. Replace main on/o switch.
4a. Install new battery into the
handheld transmitter.
4b. Recon gure remote where
necessary.
5. Replace remote control circuit
board where necessary.
6. Replace remote control switch
board.
