Replacing the front audio and USB assembly

This section provides instructions on how to replace the front audio and USB
assembly.
To replace the front audio and USB assembly, do the following:

Attention
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and
understanding the "Important safety information" in the ThinkCentre Safety
and Warranty Guide that came with your computer. To obtain a copy of the
ThinkCentre Safety and Warranty Guide, go to:

1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets.
2. Open the computer cover. See "Opening the computer cover" on page 120.
3. Pivot the optical drive bay assembly upward to gain access to the front audio
and USB assembly.
4. Locate the front audio and USB assembly.
5. Disconnect the front audio and USB assembly cables from the system board.
See "Locating parts on the system board" on page 122.
Note: Make sure you note the locations of the cables when you disconnect
the cables from the system board.
6. Remove the screw that secures the front audio and USB assembly to the
chassis.
