The stringer bead is formed by
the torch travelling in a straight line
while keeping the wire and nozzle
centered over the weld joint
Welding positions
1. Flat position: This position is the easiest
and most commonly used position. It is
best to weld in the flat position to
achieve good results
2. Horizontal position: This position prevents
the weld puddle from running downward
while allowing slow enough travel speed.
For this position, angle B should be about
