40-6522 English 8/19/05 4:19 PM Page 7 Alkaline Battery Installation 1. Remove battery compartment cover by loosening the bolt with a coin. Remove the Ni-MH battery packs from the chambers inside the battery compartment, making sure to disconnect the two-pin connectors.

This switch turns the background illumination of the LCD on and off. (f) Power Saving Function When the instrument cannot receive the laser signal for 6 continuous minutes, and there is no detection occurring during this 6 minutes, the unit will shut off automatically to prolong the battery’s life.
