Power management
This section provides instructions on how to charge the battery, extend the battery life between charges,
and check the battery status.
Charging the battery
The tablet is shipped with an ac power adapter and a power cord to charge the tablet from any standard
ac power outlet.
Attention: Use only Lenovo-approved ac power adapters and power cords. Unauthorized ac power
adapters and power cords could severely damage the tablet.
The battery is not fully charged when shipped. To charge the tablet battery, do one of the following:
• Charge the tablet battery as shown.
• For tablets that are shipped with a ThinkPad Helix Ultrabook Pro Keyboard, charge the tablet battery and
keyboard battery as shown.
• For tablets that are equipped with a ThinkPad Tablet Dock, see "Using the ThinkPad Tablet Dock" on page
67.
