6.4 Fitting the two diamond cutting discs for
slitting work 5
CAUTION
Use of Kwik-Lock nuts for this application is not
permissible.
NOTE
The slitting adapter set, available as an accessory, is
en
required for fitting two diamond cutting discs.
1.
Remove the clamping flange from the drive spindle.
2.
Screw the adapter onto the drive spindle and tighten
it securely.
3.
Fit the first diamond cutting disc, observing the
specified direction of rotation (arrow).
4.
Fit the spacing ring corresponding to the desired
slitting width.
5.
Fit the second diamond cutting disc and any re-
maining spacing washers, observing the specified
direction of disc rotation (arrow).
6.
Screw the clamping nut onto the drive spindle and
tighten it securely with the wrench.
7.
Close the hood.

7 Operation

7.1 Access to edges and corners 9
DANGER
Wait until the power tool has come to a complete
stop.
1.
Press the locking catch.
2.
Open the front clip until it engages in the open
position (greater than 180°).
7.2 Marking the cutting position 10
The first mark, at the gearing side, indicates the position
of the inner cutting disc or single disc. The second mark
indicates the maximum slitting width (max. position of
the second disc).

8 Care and maintenance

CAUTION
Disconnect the power tool supply cord plug from the
power outlet.

6.5 Depth adjustment 7
1.
Press the depth adjustment locking lever.
2.
Set the desired cutting depth according to the scale
by pressing the depth adjustment catch.
3.
The locking screw can be used to prevent movement
of the plunge mechanism.
6.6 Plunge function
The plunge function can be used to plunge the diamond
cutting discs into the material to be cut after the carriage
is positioned on the working surface.
6.7 Fitting the side handle 8
1.
CAUTION When the hood is used for cutting or
slitting work, the side handle must always be
fitted to the hood.
Screw the side handle into the threaded boss
provided on the left or right side of the hood or
angle grinder.
NOTE The side handle may be fitted on either side
(suitable for right or left-handed users).
7.3 Removing the disc(s) 12
1.
Open the hood, as described in the section "Open-
ing the hood".
2.
When a single disc is fitted, remove the diamond
cutting disc by releasing the clamping nut or Kwik-
Lock nut.
3.
When two diamond cutting discs are used, remove
the spacer washers.
4.
Remove the second diamond cutting disc and the
clamping flange.
5.
Use the wrench to release the adapter.
6.
Press the catch on the angle grinder.
7.
Rotate the hood around the spindle axis until it can
be lifted away from the angle grinder.
7.4 Breaking out the middle rib when slitting 11
Break out the rib of material between the slits with the
aid of the break-out tool.
8.1 Care and maintenance of the hood
Clean the clamping flange, adapter, clamping nut, spindle
and the depth gauge with a cleaning cloth, a brush or, if
necessary, with compressed air.
8.2 Checking the appliance after care and
maintenance
After carrying out care and maintenance, check that all
protective and safety devices are fitted and that they
function faultlessly.
