  • Page 18 STEP 7 Move the Product into Place (a) For one person: Grip the front base of the product and lift upward, then push the product into location for use. Be careful to avoid pinching fingers when setting the product down. (b) For two people: Have one person grip the front base of the product while the other person grips the support tubes (A8, A9).
  • Page 20 STEP 9 Install the Boost Converter Box Note: A ground wire and the following instructions are required by European safety standards. The ground wire is not required by North American safety standards. To avoid electric shock and current leakage, this product has an exterior ground wire. For your safety, connect this ground wire to the unit and to the building ground.
  • Page 24 STEP 11 Connect Inverter (Continued) Connect other fitness products in a similar fashion, one by one, starting always with the product closest to the inverter. On the last unit in the line, on the side that is not connected, do not remove the protective cover on the boost converter. For instructions on connecting boost converters to their associated fitness products, please refer to the fitness product installation manual.
  • Page 29 STEP 16 How to Set the Number of Fitness Products per Pod Upon setup, the number of fitness products per pod must be entered into the memory of each product. If this is not done properly, the inverter might get overloaded and its fuse might break.

The previous (or default) value for the number of units in the pod will appear in the setting value screen, and the following message will appear in the dot matrix screen: “ENTER NUMBER OF CARDIO PRODUCTS CONNECTED”. a.   • Page 34 CARDIO - A heart rate control program, the cardio conditioning workout is designed to keep your pulse at the optimum rate for cardio conditioning. Resistance settings change automatically to maintain a target heart rate as calculated by the formula (220-AGE)*0.8. CUSTOM HR - This heart rate control program allows you to set your own target heart rate.
  • Page 36 MESSAGE SCREEN The message screen shows workout feedback in two rows. Press the CHANGE DISPLAY key to toggle between either the top or bottom row of workout feedback. The LED in front of the activated row of feedback will light up. When the SCAN LED is lit, the active row of workout feedback changes every six seconds.

Use the <.> key to enter decimal points, such as 12.5 or 0.25. Press the ENTER key to confirm your setting and proceed to set the age value.

Unlike other workout programs, the goal of the VARI-STRIDE program is always one of three time lengths. After you press the VARI-STRIDE key, the TIME LED will light up. Either the stride adjustment motor VR requires calibration, or the stride motor must be replaced. Other possible reasons for such an error include disconnected stride motor wiring and a drive or display board malfunction.
