1. Fill the boiler container with cold water.
!
CAUTION
For steam only, do not fill the glass carafe with cold water above the 2-cups
marking. This amount of water will always provide enough steam for frothing
milk.
2. Pour 4 to 6 oz of fresh, cold milk into a small pitcher. Milk will froth better in a cold pitcher.
The pitcher should fit underneath the cappuccino nozzle. We recommend using 2% or
skim milk for a stiff, dense froth. Use regular whole milk if you prefer a creamy froth.
3. Make sure the espresso side of the machine is on, then turn the side selector knob to
STEAM (b2).
4. Place your frothing pitcher under the steam nozzle.
CAUTION :
!
Do not leave the machine unattended at this time.
It will take approximately 30 to 60 seconds after turning the machine on for the steam to
come out of the steam nozzle. Plunge the steam nozzle into the pitcher of milk without
touching the bottom of the pitcher to prevent blocking the steam flow.
As soon as the milk begins to move, slowly move the steam nozzle back to the surface
of the milk with a circular motion.
Plunge the steam nozzle into the container again this time with an increasing circular
movement.
Do this several times until the milk turns into a thick and creamy froth.
When the required quantity of milk is reached, turn the steam release knob to the "Off"
position.
5. Now you can remove the pitcher from underneath the steam nozzle.
Caution :
!
If you do not need all the water for steaming, proceed as follows:
a) turn off the machine.
b) release the remaining steam pressure into another container.
Do not close the steam release knob before all steam is released or machine has been
turned "OFF"! (See section – CAUTION - PRESSURE)

Cleaning the espresso side

Before cleaning, turn "OFF" the machine, unplug it, and allow it to cool down.
The filter holder, filter basket, carafe, carafe lid and overflow lid must be cleaned by hand. Do
not put them in the dishwasher. Only use hot water and gentle soap. Never use abrasive
materials.
The machine can be wiped clean by using a damp cloth. Never immerse the body of your
appliance in water or any other liquid. Clean the brewing head with a damp cloth and remove
ground coffee. If there is water left in the boiler chamber, let the machine cool down, remove all
parts and empty water through the top opening by turning the machine upside down.
Cleaning the steam nozzle
Clean the steam nozzle after each time you have immersed it in the milk, otherwise the inside
of the nozzle becomes clogged and the milk deposits on the outside harden and become
difficult to remove.
If clogging does occur, turn the machine off and allow the steam nozzle to cool. Unscrew
the metal tip and clean the clogged tip with a sewing needle and wash with dish detergent.
