Radio Data System (RDS)
The Radio Data System (RDS) is a system in which inaudible digital information is transmitted
in addition to the normal FM radio programme. RDS offers several useful features, the following
are available on your radio:-
Programme Service (PS) name
The Programme Service name is a text usually
consisting of not more than eight alphanumeric
characters. It indicates information about the
programme being broadcast. A station name
or an abbreviation is shown in the display
instead of the tuned frequency (Example: BBC
R4).

Enhanced Other Network (EON)
Additional
information
programmes within the same network is
transmitted when your broadcasting station is
using an Enhanced Other Network. You will
hear traffic flashes of other programmes within
the network automatically if the Traffic
Announcement function is switched on.
