File Type

Select the file type for saving the scanned data. The following four file types
are available.
File type
Item
PDF
Compact PDF
TIFF
JPEG
If "PDF" or "Compact PDF" is selected as the file type, you can specify the
encryption level. The settings that can be specified are described below.

Some file types may not be available depending on the selected Color set-
ting. The possible combinations of the File Type and Color settings are
shown below.

Description
The scan operation can be divided
into several sessions when all pages
of a document cannot be loaded
into the ADF (optional) or when
placing the document on the origi-
nal glass. In addition, the docu-
ments can be scanned separately
according to their type, such as
when single-sided documents are
mixed with double-sided docu-
ments.
Removes the speckles from the slit
glass and scans the document that
is loaded in the ADF.
Description
Saves to the PDF format.
Saves to the compressed PDF format. Used for full-color scan data, etc.
Saves to the TIFF format.
Saves to the JPEG format.
Description
Select the encryption level.
Enter the password that is required for opening data that is encrypted (up
to 32 alphanumeric characters). To confirm the password, enter the
password again.
Enter the password that is required for changing the authority of a docu-
ment (up to 32 alphanumeric characters). To confirm the password, enter
the password again.
