During the warranty period, the custom er may be
responsible for repair costs if the com puter damage was
caused by misuse, accident, m odification, unsuitable
physical or operating environm ent, or im proper
maintenance by the customer. The following list provides
some comm on items that are not covered under warranty
and some sym ptom s that m ight indicate that the system
was subjected to stress beyond normal use.
Before checking problem s with the computer, determ ine
whether the dam age is covered under the warranty by
referring to the following:

• LCD panel cracked from the application of excessive
force or from being dropped
• Scratched (cosmetic) parts
• Distortion, deform ation, or discoloration of the cosmetic
parts
• Cracked or broken plastic parts, broken latches, broken
pins, or broken connectors caused by excessive force
• Damage caused by liquid spilled into the system
• Damage caused by the im proper insertion of a PC Card
or the installation of an incompatible card
• Damage caused by foreign m aterial in the diskette drive
• Diskette drive dam age caused by pressure on the
diskette drive cover or by the insertion of a diskette with
multiple labels
• Damaged or bent diskette eject button
• Fuses blown by attachm ent of a nonsupported device
• Forgotten com puter password (making the com puter
unusable)
• Sticky keys caused by spilling a liquid onto the keyboard
