7 Troubleshooting

Problem
Coffee only comes out in
drips when it is being
prepared.
The Water Tank symbol M
lights up even though the
tank is full.
The ; and _ symbols flash
alternately.
Grinder is making a very loud
noise.
When the ENA is switched
on, the Cleaning symbol L
flashes for 5 seconds. The
machine then switches off.

Cause/Result
Coffee or ground coffee has
been ground too finely and
is blocking the system.
The water tank float is
trapped.
The system must be filled
with water.
There are foreign objects in
the grinder.
If the machine was exposed
to the cold for a long
period of time, heating is
disabled for safety reasons.
Action
T Set the grinder to a coarser setting or
use coarser ground coffee (see Chapter 1
'Preparing and using for the first time –
Adjusting the grinder').
T Descale the water tank (see Chapter 5
'Maintenance – Descaling the water
tank').
T Fill the water tank (see Chapter 1
'Preparing and using for the first time –
Filling the water tank').
T Touch the ; or _ symbol.
The system fills up with water.
T Contact customer support in your
country (see Chapter 11 'JURA contact
details / Legal information').
T Warm the machine at room
temperature.
