Troubleshooting

This chapter describes common problems you may encounter and possible solutions to
them. The Gigaset Router can be easily monitored through panel indicators to identify
problems. If you cannot resolve any connection problems after checking the indicators,
then refer to the other sections in the following table.
Symptom
Power LED is OFF
LINK/Act LED is OFF
Action
Power adapter has failed or is disconnected.
N
Check that the power adapter is connected to the
N
Gigaset Router and to an outlet.
If the power indicator does not light when the
N
power cord is plugged in, you may have a problem
with the power outlet, power cord or power
adapter.
If the unit powers off after running for a while,
check for loose power connections, power losses
or surges at the power outlet.
If you cannot isolate the problem, then the power
adapter may be defective. In this case, contact the
Service for assistance (see page 87).
Verify that the Gigaset Router and attached device
N
are powered up.
Make sure the cable is plugged into both the
N
Gigaset Router and the corresponding device.
Verify that the proper cable type is used and that
N
its length does not exceed the specified limits.
Make sure that the network interface on the
N
attached device is configured for the proper
communication speed and duplex mode.
Check the adapter on the attached device and
N
cable connections for possible defects. Replace
any defective adapter or cable if necessary.
