Introducing the Switch

The ProCurve Switch 2510-24 is a multiport switch that can be used to build
high-performance switched workgroup networks. These switches are store-
and-forward devices offering low latency for high-speed networking.

The Switch 2510-24 has 24 auto-sensing 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 ports, two dual-
personality ports—either auto-sensing 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 or mini-
GBIC.
The dual-personality ports have either auto-sensing 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45,
or mini-GBIC connectivity. If any of the mini-GBIC ports are used the corre-
sponding RJ-45 port will be disabled.
These switches are designed to be used primarily as a high-density wiring
closet or desktop switch. These switches can directly connect computers,
printers, and servers to provide dedicated bandwidth to those devices, and
can build a switched network infrastructure by connecting the switch to hubs,
other switches, or routers. In addition, the Series 2510 Switch offer full
network management capabilities.
