Phone Modem
The Mediamaster has a built-in Phone Modem. The connection
of the modem to the ordinary telephone plug is required for ac-
cess to future on-line services such as Near Video on Demand
and Pay per View.
For the full functionality of your subscription we recommend that
you do not disconnect the phone plug.
Since digital broadcasting will evolve and diversify, we might in
the near future receive applications which need to be paid for, or
perhaps to be rented for just one day. Communicating your re-
quests therefore becomes a natural part of your daily use of the
Mediamaster.
Examples of such services are:
Near Video On Demand (NVOD)
It is like having the cinema at home. It makes it possible to order
and watch movies distributed by your Service Provider at times
convenient to you.
Pay Per View (PPV)
You can get access to PPV programmes by using your Smart
Card. Your credit and the actual price will be displayed on the
screen before you decide to pay.
On line services
Depending on your Service Provider you may perform electronic
transactions such as Home Shopping or banking via your Media-
master.
