Resetting your RDA

You should reset your RDA after completing the upgrade process. You may also have to
perform a reset if your RDA no longer responds to the buttons on the screen.
Performing a soft reset
A soft reset allows your RDA to get a fresh start, similar to rebooting a desktop
computer. All records and entries are retained after a soft reset.
To perform a soft reset, press and release the Power and Backlight button together.
Performing a hard reset
A hard reset will erase all records and entries stored in your RDA. Never perform a hard
reset unless a soft reset does not correct your problem. Always ensure you have
performed a HotSync operation, if possible, before performing a hard reset on your
RDA. When you perform your next HotSync operation, you can restore any data that
you previously synchronized to your desktop computer.
To perform a hard reset, do the following:
1. Press and hold the Power and Backlight buttons together, then release the
Backlight button only.
2. Release the Power button when the Palm Powered logo appears.
3. Follow on-screen instructions:
· If you want to abandon the hard reset, press the down arrow button.
· If you want to continue with the hard reset, press the up arrow button.
NOTE
When you perform a hard reset, the current date and time are retained. Formats, preferences, and
other settings are restored to their factory default settings.

· Power Button
Pressing the power button turns the RDA on (if it is off) and returns to the last screen
that was displayed. Press the power button again to turn the RDA off.
· Backlight Button
Use the backlight to illuminate the screen in low-light conditions. Press the backlight
button to turn the backlight on (if it is off). Press the backlight button again to turn
the backlight off.
