    If you used security features (for example, password protection) on your previous Meazura™ MEZ1000 RDA, you must upgrade to the most current version of Palm Desktop. The method of storing passwords has changed with the latest release of Palm Desktop. Therefore, your password- protected information will not be synchronized if you do not upgrade.

    Connects your RDA to the cradle or communications cable, which in turn connects to the back of your desktop computer and to the wall current through the AC adapter. This allows you to recharge your Meazura™ MEZ1000 RDA as well as update the information between your RDA and your desktop computer using HotSync technology.

    To connect your cable or cradle on a PC-compatible computer: Turn off your computer and plug the USB or serial plug from the Meazura™ MEZ1000 RDA cable or cradle into the serial (COM) port or USB port on your desktop computer.

    Tap the Numbers pick list, and select formats for the decimal point and thousands separator. Setting the auto-off delay time You can set when your RDA automatically shuts off. Using the auto shutoff interval, your RDA automatically turns off the power and backlight after a period of inactivity, to conserve battery power. If you find that your RDA shuts itself off before you finish reviewing the information on the screen, you can increase the automatic shutoff setting.

    If you have data stored in computer applications such as spreadsheets and databases, or if you want to import data from another device, you can transfer the data to your Meazura™ MEZ1000 RDA without having to key it in manually. Save the data in one of the file formats listed below, import it into Palm Desktop, and then perform a HotSync operation to transfer the data to your RDA.

    Launcher Selecting applications Your Meazura™ MEZ1000 RDA is equipped with a variety of applications. All the applications installed on your RDA appear in the Applications Launcher menu. In addition to providing a way for you to open applications, the Applications Launcher menu displays the current time, battery level, and application category.

    Part V Using the Attention Manager Many applications (such as Date Book) want to get your attention with some sort of alarm. Attention Manager allows you to conveniently manage all of these notifications in one place. Appointments and messages can stack up while you are away from your device. Attention Manager lets you view them from a single list, where you can selectively dismiss or follow up on each event.
