USE OF THE MACHINE

6.1 Preparation of the machine

The switched off machine will be put into operation as follows:
1
Make sure that there is sufficient water in the water tank.
2
Make sure that the switches pump/hot water and steam are in the lower position, the power switch is in
lower position and the steam/ hot water valve is closed.
3
Turn on the machine (power switch in upper position).
4
The heating period depends on the ambient temperature and is approx. 10 minutes. The indicator of the pump
pressure gauge may move slightly during the heat-up phase.
5
The machine is ready for use when the orange control lamp is switched off.
6
Move the group lever with the inserted filter holder into the upper position and dispense some hot water. Thus, the
filter holder will be completely heated.
It is recommended to leave the filter holder in the brewing group to keep it warm for optimum
temperature for coffee dispension.

6.2 Manual adjustment of the brewing pressure

You can adjust and change the brewing pressure at will by turning the adjusting screw choosing a value between
approx. 8.5 and 12 bar.
To adjust the brewing pressure, proceed as follows:
1
Remove the cup warmer.
2
Place the filter holder with the blind filter (filter without holes) into the brewing group
3
Operate the group lever and read the pump pressure gauge.
4
Choose the desired brewing pressure by turning the adjusting screw. Use a coin or a flat screwdriver for turning.
You can reduce the brewing pressure by turning the screw anti-clockwise and increase it by turning it clockwise.
5
Read the pump pressure group to see the adjusted brewing pressure.
6
Now the machine is ready for use again.

6.3 Preparing coffee

Use the filter holder with the correspondent filter (1 cup) for the preparation
of 1 cup and use the big filter (2 cups) to prepare two cups.
Make sure that the filter is firmly locked in the filter holder.
Put the ground coffee (with the respective grinding degree for espresso or Café Crème)
into the filter.
Use 1 level measuring-spoon of coffee for each cup (approx. 7 g).
Do not overfill the measuring-spoon, like shown in the figure aside!
Slightly compress the ground coffee with the tamper. Clamp the filter holder firmly to the group.
Only freshly ground coffee allows an optimal coffee result. Therefore, use a professional coffee grinder. In our
assortment you will find several professional and compact coffee grinders.
Put the cup under the spout of the filter holder (to prepare two cups, put one cup under each spout).
Move the group lever into the upper position. The pump pressure gauge indicates the brewing pressure shown under
point 6.2.(between 8.5-12 bar). During coffee preparation, the fresh water is conducted back over the expansion valve.
When the cup is filled, move the group lever into the lower position.
The remaining pressure/water will be discharged into the drip tray by the lower part of the infusion cylinder.
Important
The pump-gauge increases only with the right grind and with the right pressure of the coffee by using
the tamper
If the group lever is not moved into the lower position properly, hot water and grounds disposal can squirt out of the group
while taking out the filter holder. This can cause injuries.
