Optional settings before file storage
Name a file ([File Name])
You can rename a file of the scanned original if necessary.
If the file is not renamed, it is named by rules in the following format:" Initial letter of function "+" Device name
"+" Date "+" Serial number "+" Page number "+" File extension". A file name consists of the following infor-
mation:

You can change the default file name. You can specify whether to add an initial of the function or wheth-
er to specify arbitrary text instead of the device name. For details, refer to page 17-8.

Description
Indicates the original data scan mode.

C: Copy
•
S: Fax/scan or User Box
•
P: Print
•
R: Received fax
Indicates the machine name which was specified by selection of [Utility] -
[Administrator Settings] - [Administrator/Machine Settings] - [Input Ma-
chine Address] - [Device Name].
Indicates the date and time when the original was scanned.
For example "11050115230" means that file was scanned on 15:23 of May
1, 2011.
The last digit (zero) indicates the order when the file is converted multiple
times within one minute.
If files were converted twice between 15:23 and 15:24, the last digit ap-
pears as 231 and 232.
A sequential number is given when a multi-page original is converted by
page, and the number indicates the page number of original data.
Page numbers are automatically included in the file name when the file is
saved or sent. Consider this part for FTP or other transmission when a FTP
server has restrictions regarding file names.
Extension of the file to be saved.
Extension is automatically included in the file name when the file is saved
or sent.
