Once all fields are correctly entered, click <Network setting> to assign other network settings
– see Network settings, page 50.
When ready, click <Save> to enter values and go back to the previous menu.

Bandwidth limit: Default is No.
The bandwidth limit only applies to network connections outside the sub-net of the DVR
(WAN). Bandwidth limit does NOT apply to network connection on the same sub-net as
the DVR (LAN). The DVR will check automatically if a BVC or Web Client network
connection request is sent from a PC located in the same sub-net as the DVR (no
bandwidth limitation), or from outside its sub-net (bandwidth limitation).
Note: IP addresses starting in the range of 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255, and 172.16.0.0 to
172.31.255.255, and 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 are always considered LAN
addresses.
This means that, when the bandwidth limitation is active, all DVR network communication
outside the sub-net will be limited to the selected bandwidth setting. For example, if
bandwidth limitation is set to 256 Kbps, then network traffic to connections outside the
DVR sub-net will not exceed the 256 Kbps.
When the bandwidth limit is set to a value, the encoding settings for the 2
be optimized to stream live video for the selected bandwidth value. For example if
bandwidth limit is set to 256 Kbps then encoding settings for all cameras will be set to 64
Kbps for the 2 stream to optimize viewing of four cameras. For 512 Kbps this will be

Bandwidth limit clients: Default is 1.
The option "Bandwidth limit clients" reflects the number of WAN clients that are allowed
in the bandwidth limit configuration. Every WAN connection used is maximized to the
configured maximum. For example if max bandwidth usage is set to 256Kbps and the
bandwidth limit clients value is 4, then the total WAN bandwidth consumption can be 1M
Internal port: if required, enter here the preferred internal communication port to be used
by the firmware. Default is 7892.
Preferred DNS: if required, enter here the preferred DNS server IP address.
Alternate DNS: if required, enter here an alternative DNS server address.
LAN download: Select this option to assign priority to remote downloading (exporting)
data. The download speed is 1.5x or 2.0x the normal speed (this can have a negative
effect on remote live and playback performance in web client and BVC, but will improve
the LAN download speed).
