Message alert tone

When the message alert tone is set to On, the telephone base beeps every
10 seconds to alert you to new messages. The tone stops when all new
messages have been reviewed. By default, the message alert tone setting
is Off.
To change the setting:
Using a handset or telephone base:
MENU
1. Press
CID or DIR on the handset, or
2. Use
the telephone base
press SELECT
3. Use CID or DIR on the handset, or
the telephone base

4. Press

confirmation tone.
NOTES:
• You cannot set the message alert tone when another handset or the telephone base is
accessing the answering system.
• The message alert tone beeps only if all the conditions below are met.
– Answering system is on.
– Message alert tone setting is on.
– There are new messages.

Temporarily turning off the message alert tone

Pressing any telephone base key (except
DELETE/X) temporarily silences the message alert tone. The message alert
tone plays with the next incoming message.
