    Introduction The information in this manual provides installation and maintenance procedures for the V15CCM-IR-2 Series of High-Security Corner-Mounted Cell Cameras. These units should only be installed by a qualified technician using approved materials in conformance with federal, state, and local codes. Read these instructions thoroughly before beginning an installation.

    Installation Unpacking and Inspection All Vicon equipment is inspected and tested before leaving the factory. It is the carrier’s responsibility to deliver the equipment in the same condition in which it left the factory. Inspection for Visible Damage Immediately inspect the cartons upon delivery. On all copies of the carrier’s freight bill, make a note of any visible damage.

    Camera/Lens Positioning and Adjustments The camera is on an adjustable mount so that it can be tilted slightly up and down to give a precise view. The wide angle 2.5 mm lens enables the camera to view the area with no “blind spots.” Other camera/lens adjustments are done through the OSD menu.

    Camera Settings Exposure The Exposure menu allows for the selection of Lens, Electronic Shutter, BLC, Maximum Dynamic Range, AGC and Sense Up. Lens From the Lens screen, select MANUAL for a fixed lens or DC for a varifocal lens. Both choices offer a Level adjustment (0-99) to adjust the brightness of the lens.
  • Page 15 Day & Night The Day & Night menu allows the selection of the day/night mode as well as color and aperture suppression. D&N Mode Day & Night Mode can be set to Auto, Color or Black-and-White. Auto is a true day/night function where the camera automatically switches between color and b/w depending on the light level.
  • Page 16: Privacy Mask

    Side Light Compensation can adjust the brightness of the image in the corners of the screen. It can be turned ON or OFF (default). ON allows settings of 0-50. Highlight Mask Exposure is ON or OFF (default) selectable. When ON, the camera cuts peak white levels, masking highlight areas of a scene.
  • Page 17 Privacy masks can be turned ON or OFF (default). When turned ON, the mask range is used to shape and locate the mask on the screen. One of eight colors of the mask can be selected. Sync Synchronization type, Internal or Auto (Line Lock), for the camera is selected from this menu. Sync Mode Select the synchronization, INTERNAL (default) or AUTO, which is line locked to prevent picture roll when switching between cameras in multiple camera installations.

    Exit The Exit menu offers a choice of ways to exit the OSD menu system. From the Exit menu, select to Exit the OSD menu, Save & Exit to save current settings before exiting the OSD menu of revert to factory default with Factory Set. Configuring the ViconNet (IP/LAN) Version The following information is provided when installing the ViconNet version of the V15CCM-IR2IP only.

    Although the ViconNet software does not limit the number of Groups and Users that can be created, the V15CCM-IR2IP has Users and Groups limitations. For ViconNet, the camera can support the first 20 Groups (including Administrators and Guests) and the first 100 Users. Configuring the Network Settings Note: Before starting, make sure that VNSetup is installed on the configuring PC\workstation.

In order to change the selected unit’s settings on the local PC that is running the VNSetup, a unique password must be entered.
  • Page 21 Unit TAB The Unit TAB allows the servers to change the following settings: Unit name, Nucleus IP address, IP address, Net mask, Gateway, DNS, DHCP, Time zone, Daylight saving time, Local time, Local date, and Debug level, on a scale of 0-4, where 4 is most information. Note: The Apply button must be pressed for changes to take effect.

    Info Tab The Info TAB displays the selected IP product’s general configuration information. Info Advanced TAB The Advanced TAB functions allow the user to handle unexpected events on a specific remote unit when they occur. When a problem occurs, the user can choose to Unjam unit to restart the unit’s firmware, Restart unit to restart the hardware, Net defaults to return the initial network settings (at the time the unit is shipped) and Factory defaults to return to the specific factory configuration (changes ALL settings back to the original).
  • Page 23 Custom TAB The Custom TAB allows setup of the VOX settings. The VOX mechanism allows setting the IP device so that it will not transmit audio if the level is too low (i.e., an empty room). This conserves storage and allows recording only true sound, not background noise or silence.

    ViconNet Configuration After the camera has been setup with the proper IP address, configuration features from a remote workstation, server or recorder are available as follows. • A network settings screen is used to modify the camera’s IP parameters. This allows great flexibility in network setup.

    Configuring the H.264 Open Platform Version Adding the Camera to ViconNet The V15CCM-IR2IP open platform H.264 camera does not automatically show up on the site list. It must be added to the ViconNet system. This camera does not require a third party license to be used in the system. Note: The camera only needs to be added once in the Nucleus for the entire system.
  • Page 26 This screen allows you to add/search a camera, edit an existing camera or delete a camera. Because the same screen is being used for third party cameras, some cameras may already be in the list. To add a camera 1. Click the button on the I-Onyx 9xx and Third party Camera settings screen.

    Note: If your Web browser is earlier than Internet Explorer 6 (IE6), it is recommended to upgrade to IE6. Vicon recommends using Internet Explorer as the browser and cannot guarantee full functionality with any other browser. The screens may look slightly different depending on which version of Internet Explorer is being used.
  • Page 30 Login Login with administrator’s account and password and then click the button. Note: Default administrator account is set to Admin; password is set to 123456. After logging in, an ActiveX pop-up will display. ActiveX is not required to configure the camera or for it to work in ViconNet, but it is required to view video through the browser.
  • Page 31 Setup Screens The Setup screens provide access to all the menus necessary to set up the camera. Upon selecting Setup, the Date & Time screen displays. Date & Time Set the time and date using the Date Setting screen. This camera does not synchronize time with the Nucleus.
  • Page 32 Network The Network menus consist of Host, IP Address Filtering, Type of Service, UPnP, SNMP Setting, RTP and Speed and Duplex. Host Settings Enter the Host Name and desired menu Language from the drop down list. Enter a logical Camera Name. For the Serial Setting, ViconNet requires the default settings of 8, None, 1 and 4800 baud rate.
  • Page 33 Port Mapping The Port Mapping screen sets up the correct designations for all the ports. • Set the HTTP Port to the desired port; Vicon recommends keeping the default port 80. • HTTPS Port by default is set to 443.

  • Page 35 Connection Type • Check either Dynamic IP Address (DHCP) or Static IP Address. Vicon recommends a Static IP Address. If a Dynamic IP Address is desired, refer to Appendix on how to use the IP Utility to find the address, if necessary.

    Video Settings The Video screen allows selections to setup the Video Image, Motion Detection and Compression. The choice of settings in this menu has a direct impact on the video quality. Video Image The Video screen opens to the Image screen. The Video Image screen allows making changes to the actual camera settings for Brightness, Saturation and Contrast.
  • Page 38 By default, 3 regions for motion detection will display on the video. Select which of the three regions are to be enabled and define the Sensitivity, Trigger Interval and Trigger Threshold for each region. The regions can be moved and resized by grabbing the small white box in the defined region. Note: The camera can not distinguish between normal PTZ motion and external activity.
  • Page 39 provides better moving pictures at lower bandwidth consumption; H.264 compression technology reduces file sizes and conserves bandwidth. (Note: For use with ViconNet Virtual Matrix Controller, this must be set to M-JPEG.) • The Resolution field sets the resolution of the images sent by the camera.     Live Screen There are a variety of controls available on the Live screen to control the appearance of the video. Three function buttons are available. Pressing the button makes the video full screen; press ESC key to return to original view. Using the button captures the image, which can be saved.
