5.4 Setting Course by Waypoints
A waypoint is the simplest piece of information the GP/GD-280/380/680 requires to guide you to
your destination. When a waypoint is set as destination, a straight line connects own ship
position with waypoint position. This line shows the shortest possible distance to the destination.
In Chapter 1 you learned how to set a course from own ship position to a waypoint. This
paragraph shows you how to set a course between two waypoints.
1. Press the [GOTO SEL] key to display the Select WPT menu.

GOTO SEL Key
2. Press the [CLR] key.
3. Enter the two waypoints (in two digits each) which you want to set as destination and press
the [ENT] key. For example, set waypoints 07 and 15 by pressing [0], [7], [1], [5], [ENT].
Then, the display shows the course set.
Starting
Point
To cancel course, press the [GOTO CANCEL] key.
