Printer Power and Operator Console Connections

The power receptacle on the InfoPrint Color 100 is located at position 1 of Figure 10 on page 19. The PES
control unit connects to the printer fixed tower at position 2 of Figure 10 on page 19. The cable group from
the InfoPrint Color 100 to the PES control unit contains the image data cables, several optical control
lines, and the power cord for the PES control unit. The printer fixed tower provides power for the PES
control unit, which supplies power for the collator and monitor. The RIP controller is plugged into a wall
outlet. Power for the RIP controller and service modem is supplied by separate external power receptacles
(wall outlets). The densitometer is battery operated, however, it will occasionally need to be charged using
a wall outlet. The network connection is at the back of the RIP controller.

Positioning the Operator Console

The operator console (which includes the PES control unit, the RIP controller, the collator, and table top)
can be placed in position as shown in Figure 8 on page 17. However, consider the following:
v The PES control unit must be closest to the fixed tower when the operator console is assembled and
positioned.
v The collator cables are 300 cm long, and will restrict final placement of the operator console.
v Two cable walkovers are provided to protect cables from traffic. The walkovers are 1 m (39.3 in.) long.
Approximately 305 mm (12 in) of the cable between the tower and the control unit is used in internal
routing in the control unit. The configuration shown in Figure 8 on page 17 shows the possible positions of
the operator console, based on the radius of 157 cm (62 in.) as determined by the cable length limit. This
configuration allows the operator console to face either direction along the radius, provided the PES
control unit is placed closest to the fixed tower. Ensure that you can open and close the print tower doors
when positioning the operator console. Also ensure that the final console position will not obstruct operator
access to the paper output area or jogger movement.
