2 INSTALLING THE PRINTER DRIVER (Windows)

Configuring the Option

After you complete the installation of printer drivers, you should configure the option settings on
the printer driver.
There are two methods to configure the options;
When the printer and your computer is not connected in the TCP/IP V4 network, you can
configure the options manually.

When the printer and your computer is connected in the TCP/IP V4 network, you can config-
ure the options automatically obtaining the settings using the Two-Way Communication.

Configuring the Options Manually

For SMB Printing:
When users install the printer driver for SMB printing, only a user who log into the computer or domain
using the user name "Administrator" can configure the option settings on the printer driver. The options
settings which are set by the "Administrator" are automatically applied to the other users' printer driver
for SMB printing.
The following describes an operation on Windows Vista. The procedure is the same when other
versions of Windows are used.

Click [Start], select [Control Panel] and click [Printer] under [Hard-
ware and Sound] to open the Printers folder.
If you are using the Windows 2000, click [Start], select [Settings], and click [Printers]
to open the Printers folder.
If you are using the Windows XP / Windows Server 2003, click [Start] and click [Print-
ers and Faxes] to open the Printers and Faxes folder.
