Installing the Printer Driver for LPR Printing

PREPARATIONS:
Before installing the printer driver to use LPR printing, please make sure of the following:
The printer is connected to the network and turned on.
The TCP/IP setting is completed correctly.
The LPD Printing is completed correctly.
The TCP/IP protocol is installed and configured correctly on your Windows 2000 / Windows XP /
Windows Vista / Windows Server 2003.
REQUIREMENTS:
To perform installation, you must log onto Windows with the "Administrator" account or "Power
User" account.
To install the printer driver to use LPR printing, configure the LPR port first, and then install the
printer driver using the installer in the User Software (Drivers).
The following describes an installation on Windows Vista. The procedure is the same when
other versions of Windows are used.

Click [Start], select [Control Panel] and click [Printer] under [Hard-
ware and Sound] to open the Printers folder.
If you are using the Windows 2000, click [Start], select [Settings], and click [Printers]
to open the Printers folder.
If you are using the Windows XP / Windows Server 2003, click [Start] and click [Print-
ers and Faxes] to open the Printers and Faxes folder.
