Least Cost Routing (LCR)

Description
Least Cost Routing (LCR) is a system programmable feature that automatically selects the
least expensive route available at the time a long distance call is made. Previous programming
eliminates the necessity for the user to dial the access code of the least expensive carrier. The
appropriate CO port is selected and an appropriate access code is added before the number is
outpulsed.
General Description
The dialling plan for long distance call is as follows:
01NX-NXX-XXXX
01NXX-NXXXXX
(N=2-9; X=0-9)
<Example>
London
Birmingham
Edinburgh
Glasgow
Liverpool
Manchester
Tyneside
Wearside
Other Areas
The charged fee is decided by three digits (NXX) following "0" of the area codes and time zone
per carrier. For example, if charged fee by a carrier is as follows, program the carrier's fee in
time zones. The system compares each carrier's charged fee and selects the least expensive
carrier for the call.
