POWER STEERING PUMP

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
CAUTION:
Before starting dismantling clean carefully the
components to be dismantled and the surroundings.
Removal
1) Remove water radiator and air radiator (intercooler) (see
6B-8).
2) Remove hydraulic oil inlet connector (3) to the pump and
pour the tank content in an appropriate container.
3) Disconnect the pressurized oil outlet connector (2) from the
pump.
4) Remove nuts (1) fixing hydraulic pump (4) to sump from the
group of auxiliary devices (5).
5) Remove hydraulic pump (4).
CAUTION:
Protect with appropriate caps the air, water and
hydraulic circuit ducts, as they are open during the
dismantling. Intake of foreign bodies trough these
ducts could seriously damage the corresponding
component.
Installation
NOTE:
• Clean carefully the areas around the couplings of the
pump, linkages and fittings with the group of auxiliary
devices.
• Assemble new O ring, brake washers and pieces showing
any damage.
1) Proceed to install of the steering pump inverting the steps
used when dismantling, taking into account the specified
tightening torques.
Tightening Torques:
• Oil inlet connector (2) to pump:
3 ÷ 4 Kg-m (30 ÷ 40 Nm)
• Pressurized oil outlet connector (3) to pump:
3 ÷ 4 Kg-m (30 ÷ 40 Nm)
• Fixing nuts (1) of hydraulic pump:
3,5 Kg-m (35 Nm)
