INSTALLATION AND ADJUSTMENTS OF
CYLINDER HEAD
NOTE:
Clean cylinder head and components .thoroughly
before starting installation
Rear cover installation
1) In case of having removed rear cover (1), install it with a new
gasket (2) and apply specified tightening torque to the fixing
elements.
Tightening torque screws and nuts at rear cover:
2,5 Kg-m (25 Nm)
Valves assembly installation
1) With tool (A) ref. 790987, install oil-seals (3) in the valves
guides of admission and exhaust (4).
2) Lubricate valves rods and oil-seals.
3) Install valves (10) in respective positions and the rest of
components as explained:
• Valve spring seat (9)
• Assembly external spring (7) and internal (8) springs.
• Valve spring retainer (6).
• Compress springs with tool (B),install valve cotter (5) and
decompress springs ensuring that the cotter (5) are
perfectly lodged in the channeling of the valve and in the
upper fixture (6).
NOTE:
Repeat the same procedure for installing the rest of
the valves assemblies.
Control injectors overhanging, thickness and
impermeability of valves.
Valves head thickness and overhanging injectors
1) Install temporarily the four injectors.
2) Install a dial gauge (C) adjusted to zero on coupling surface
(11) of cylinder head.
