'UNEXPECTED" Error Messages
Seveml "UNEXPECTED failure messagesmaybe displayed at any time. When
the CPU exeeutes an instruction set, certain events are expected to occur. Should
an interrupt (either internally from the CPU or extemall from some other de-
vice) occur and cause a R4M or CPU address to be u J
out of squence, the
followingerror message is displayed

Table 4-7 lists these me-ssages. T he address'5 most si nificant hexadecimal digits
A
are FFFFF so only the 3 Least Significant Digits (f_S ) are used in the table.
When a range of addresses is shown, each address in the range is six addresses
apart.
When an "UNEXPECTED failure message equates to an interrupt level, vec-
tored interrupt, or trap, the followingsituations normally exist:
Interruptlevels
1 through Z
Can happen at any time and are usually
caused by an interface set to the indicated interrupt level. If the error re-
peats, replaw the CPU board.
CPU traps: Usually occurs when the operating system is being used. A
CPU trap indicates something in the processor cmuits didn't go right. If
the error repeats, replace the emulator or CPU board.
Other errors: Several things on the CPU/emuiator board in an interface or
processor circuit can cause these errors. If the error repeats, replace the
CPU or emulator board.
