Changing network mode settings
You can change network mode settings
according to the network mode
(communication method) adopted by the
overseas network operator.
From the Home screen, tap

and tap [Settings].
Tap [Wireless &

[Network Mode].
Select a network mode you use.

You can select from [WCDMA only],
[GSM only] or [WCDMA (preferred)/
GSM]. If you select [WCDMA
(preferred)/GSM], you can use both
GSM and WCDMA.
Activating data roaming
From the Home screen, tap

and tap [Settings].
Tap [Wireless &

[Mobile networks].
Tap [Data roaming].

Read the cautions displayed, tap

[Yes].
[Data roaming] checkbox is marked.
Making/Receiving calls in
the country you stay
When you arrive overseas and turn on the
terminal, an available network is

automatically set.
Check that the battery and signal levels are
high enough.
Depending on the network operator, even if
the Caller ID notification is active, the caller ID
may not be notified or appear properly.
In this case, calls cannot be made from the call
log.
Making a call to outside
country you stay (including
Japan)
You can make a call from overseas using the
international roaming service.

You can easily make international calls from
the country you stay to Japan or to other
countries by entering prefix "+" and then the
country code and phone number.
From the Home screen, tap
