Pre-installation

The Gatekeeper YG is a complex piece of machinery with the capacity to cause damage
or injury. The installation must be approached with caution and thoroughness. The
following section details aspects related to the gate and installation site that must be
completed before you begin to install the Gatekeeper YG.

Gates

Each Gatekeeper YG actuator will handle a gate weight up to 661 lb. (300Kg) and a
length of 12 ft. (3.6 m). Verify that your gates do not exceed these limits.
The site should be level where both gates can move freely. Do not install the Gatekeeper
YG on gates that move up- or down-slope.

Conduit

Use PVC conduit to protect the electrical wires that power the Gatekeeper YG. You may
need to preset conduit before pouring concrete. Acceptable conduits are PVC pipe or
flexible tubes.
Ensure that electrical wires do not contact any rough or sharp protrusions that might nick
or cut the electrical cable.

Permits

You may live in an area that requires permits for construction projects or electrical work.
A permit may be required to own/operate an automatic gate opener.
Contact your local authorities to ensure you have all required permits and paperwork.
Failure to do so could result in fines or bureaucratic interference.
