TIPS FOR READING AND WRITING Reading with Merlin ultra • New users of video magnifier systems have a tendency to over- magnify their reading material. Make the type large enough to see it comfortably, but not so large that it becomes tedious to scan across a page.
Using Optional HD Pack If a HD Pack is purchased, the Merlin ultra is able to display and adjust Line Markers and Window Markers and/or turn the Autofocus on or off. Installing the HD Pack • Plug the coiled cable into the HD Pack and the other end into back of the Merlin ultra labeled HD Pack.
Turning the Auto Focus On or Off • The Merlin ultra is set to auto focus by default. In certain situations the auto focus may need to be disabled temporarily. For Example, when writing on a document underneath the camera, the camera may focus on your hand rather than on what is on the document.
TROUBLESHOOTING 1. No Power to Merlin ultra • Push the Power button on Merlin ultra’s control panel. A light next to the Power button should illuminate, indicating the power is turned on. • Make sure the power supply cord is completely plugged into the AC outlet.
