4. Using the sensor

Second output contact

The SecNurse offers standard a second output contact that can be used for different appli-
cations. It is not mandatory to connect this output.
Out of bed mode
The "out of bed mode" implicates that the sensor offers a second contact. This contact
can be used according to the individual needs of a patient. For example to switch a light
when the patient leaves his or her bed. Or it can be connected to the existing nurse call
system, resulting in a notification to the staff that a patient has left his or her bed but is
not in an alarm situation.
Armed mode
As an alternative, there is additional software optional* available, the "armed mode". For
some situations it is needed that the SecNurse gives a contact (armed mode) to the nurse
call system so that the nurse call system knows the sensor is switched on. (The armed
mode will make use of this second output contact and will therefor replace the out of bed
mode option).
*If you require the armed mode software please mention this clearly on your purchase
order.
