Personal alert > Edit personal alert. Select Configure
personal alert, and edit the recipients and the message.
See the Messaging section starting on page 26 for
more information.
The personal alert is made up of the following elements:
• Last GPS fix, time of GPS acquisition and fix accuracy
• Time that the personal alert was triggered on
the phone
• Email address of the recipient if the alert is sent
as an email
• A short message predefined by the user, written in Latin
characters. This personalised text is limited in length; a
descending counter indicates available characters when
editing. The same message is sent to all recipients
You can restrict access to the Edit personal alert feature
by switching on Personal alert lock in Menu > Settings
> Security and entering the admin code. The default for
Personal alert lock is off. See Setting up the admin code
on page 53 for more information.
Sending a personal alert
The quickest way to send a personal alert is to press
* and # simultaneously for at least 2 seconds from
the main screen. Alternatively, select Menu > Extras >
Personal alert > Send personal alert. A pop-up will
appear asking you to confirm the action.
The antenna must be deployed and your phone
connected to the satellite to successfully send personal
alert messages.
