Planning and Implementation for the
5400zl/8200zl Switches
This chapter discusses the planning process a user should follow to
successfully implement PoE or PoE+ on 5400zl/8200zl switches. The 5412zl
chassis and the 8212zl chassis share a common PoE/PoE+ implementation,
and the 5406zl chassis and the 8206zl chassis share a common PoE/PoE+
implementation. Port counts, power supply wattages, specifications, and
functionality for these two platforms are the same with respect to PoE and
PoE+.
After understanding what PoE is and its operating rules, the next step to
implementation is planning. See
example list of considerations during the planning phase.
