FRONT BRAKE DISC THICKNESS
CHECK

1.
Using
a
micrometer, measure disc thickness at eight
posi-
tions, approximately 45o apart and 10 mm (0.39
in.) in
fromf
the outer edge of the
disc.
Brake Disc Thickness
Standard
value: 24 mm
{O.94 in.)
Limit: 22.4
mm (O.882 in.l
Thickness
Variation (At least

The
difference between
any thickness measurements
should
not
be more than O.O15 mm
(O.OOOO
in.l.
2.
lf the disc is beyond the limits for
thickness, remove
it
and
install a new one. lf thickness variation
exceeds
the
specifi-
cation,
replace
the disc or turn rotor with on the
car type
brake lathe (MAD. DL-8700PF or equivalent).

caliper

1.
Wlren
the limit is
exceeded, replace
the
pads at
both
sides, and also
the
brake pads
for the
wheels
on the opposite side at the
same time.
2.
lf there is a significant difference in the thicknessss
of the
pads on
the left
and
right
sides, check
the
sliding condition of the piston, lock pin
sleeve and
guide
pin
sleeve.
Loosen
the
parking brake cable (from the vehicle interior).
and disconnect
the
parking brake end installed
to the
rear
brake
assembly.
Remove lock
pin. Lift
caliper assembly and retain
with
,l
wrres.
Gaution
Do not wipe off the special
greaso
thEt is on ths lod(.
pin or allow
it to
contaminate
the
lock
pin.
4.
Remove
the following
parts
from
caliper
support.
