SERVICE

SERVICING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
1.
When working on .the electrical system, be sure
to
uuoiO
arbitrary changes to the electrical devices or wiring
as
such
can cause electrical overloading and shorts, and
fire.
2.
When servicing the electrical system, disconnect the nega-
tive cable terminal from the
battery.
Caution
1.
Before connecting
or
disconnecting
the
negative cable,
be surc
to tum off
the ignition
srvitch and
füe
lighting
snrritch.
(lf this not done, ürere
is
the possibility of semicondustor
pars
being damaged.)
2.
For
MPI-equipped models
and
ECI turbo-equipped
models,
after completion of the work
steps (rrhen the
batteryt
negative
(-l
terminal is connectedf,
uaarm up
the engine and allow the engine to
idlo
for approximately
fhle minutes under üre conditions dscribed
below
and
then
chec{r
that the idling
is satisfactory.
Engine coolant temperature: 8Oo- 95oC

In order
to
retain
the high
quality and safety of
the vehicle,
it
is important that
any accessories
that
may be
fitted or
modifications/repairs
that
may be carried out which
involve the electrical or fuel systems, MUST be carried out
in
accordance
with
MMC's
Information/lnstructions".
ENGINE OILS

Prolonged and repeated contact
with
mineral oil
will
result
in-

nätural fats from

skin, leading
to
dryneso
initation and dermatitis. In addition, used engine oil
containf
potentially harmful contaminants
which may
cause
skin
cancer. Adequate means
of
skin
protection and
washing
facilities must
be
provided.
