software package, press Fetch to fetch the pack-
age. After the software package has been suc-
cessfully fetched, the software installation view
opens. Press Install to install the software.

WWW settings

To enter the WWW Settings view, press the Set-
tings command button in the WWW main view.
Select a setting and press Change.
URL entry box visible – Yes (default) / No . When
Yes is chosen, the URL entry box is shown in the
WWW browser main view, and the URL is read
from the entry box. When the option is No , the
URL is read from the Hotlist.
Autoload images – Yes / No (default). If the au-
toload images option is Yes , inline (JPEG or GIF)
images on the WWW page are fetched automat-
ically. When the setting is No , WWW pages are
fetched without the images and shown much
faster.
Autodisconnect time – 2 min , 3 min (default), 5
min, Maximum . This value defines the inactivity
period after which the connection will be discon-
nected. If you select Maximum , the factory-set
value (12 minutes) is used.
Internet access — Shows a list of available Inter-
net access points. The default Internet access
point is the first entry in the list. If the list is
empty, an Internet access point has to be defined
first (in the Internet settings, see "Internet Set-
tings").
Show E-mail address – Yes (default) / No . Show
E-mail includes your E-mail address with the
fetch request when fetching a WWW page. The
E-mail address is defined in Mail application's
Remote mailbox settings.
Caution: Beware of viruses. Install into the Nokia
9000 Communicator only software you have ob-
tained from sources which offer adequate pro-
tection against viruses.
Proxy settings – Proxy settings allows you to use
a proxy (a brief description of the proxy is includ-
ed in the section "Internet: Internet glossary").
The HTTP proxy server name and Proxy port have
to be defined before using the proxy.
Use proxy – Yes / No (default). Determines
whether a proxy is used or not when using the
selected Internet Access Point.
HTTP Proxy – The hostname of the HTTP proxy
server.
Proxy port – The port number that the proxy
server uses.
No proxy for – You may define domains for
which the proxy must not be used. Domain
names are delimited by commas (for example,
nokia.com,edu.fi ). You may specify the do-
mains as accurately as you wish.
Empty cache – Yes (default) / No . Most recently
fetched WWW pages are kept in the communica-
tor's temporary memory, called the cache. If
Empty cache is set to Yes , the cache is automat-
ically emptied after you exit the WWW applica-
tion. The next time you want to view a WWW
page, a "fresh" page is fetched from the Internet.
If Empty cache is set to No , the cache is not emp-
tied when you close the WWW application.
When you restart the WWW application, the
most recently fetched WWW pages can be re-
trieved from the cache without making a new
data call.
