SITE R R EQUIREMENTS The fireplace opening should be inspected and repairs made where necessary. Any chair brick or fireback may be left in place, providing that the dimensional requirements for debris collection and spigot clearance are met. The opening WIDTH and HEIGHT dimensions should be between 375mm and 450mm wide, and 540mm (see note b b elow) to 575mm high.
SITE R R EQUIREMENTS ( ( continued) Any type of fire surround used with this appliance must be adequately sealed to the wall and floor. A combustible shelf may be fixed to the wall above the fire, providing that it complies with the dimensions given below.

PREPARING T T HE A A PPLIANCE ( ( continued) SPIGOT R R ESTRICTOR: If installing the fire into a Class 1 or good Class 2 flue, attach the spig- ot restrictor to the rear of the appliance using the screws provided. If the spigot restrictor is provided already fitted to the fire (stitch bend join) simply bend up into position in the flue outlet of the fire.
10.0 GAS S S UPPLY R R OUTING ( ( continued) The gas pipe must be suitably protected where it passes through fireplace openings. Any sleeving should be sealed to the pipe at its ends. To comply with current installation codes, it is essential that the supply pipe is fitted with an appliance isolator valve (e.g.
GAS CONNECTION 11.2 Refit the burner tray into the firebox, fit the two screws through the locating holes in the tray legs, and tighten. Purge the gas supply thoroughly to remove air and dirt/debris BEFORE connection. Now connect the previously installed gas supply to the control tap and tighten all joints.
12.0 FUEL BED LAYOUT Coal E E ffect O O ption(continued) 4. Take five more moulded coals and position as shown to form the ‘second row’ of the fuel effect. The coals may be rotated as desired to fit into the gaps between the coal sup- ports in order to create a random, realistic effect.
