To test a surface element, perform the follow-
ing steps:
1. Use an ohmmeter and set the range switch
to R x 1.
2. With no power applied, disconnect one
wire from the element terminals.
3. You should obtain the reading for the
element as listed in the following chart.
If the resistance reading is not within the range
shown, the element is defective and should be
replaced.
