Setting Up the Command Queue Depth

Set the number of commands allowed to be queued (command queue depth) on each LUN in the
ETERNUS Disk storage systems from the LAN card. This setting optimizes the connection
between the ETERNUS Disk storage systems and the server.

Edit the configuration file.
Edit the configuration file (/etc/system) and specify the command queue depth.
The appropriate "ssd_max_throttle" parameter value is determined by the ETERNUS Disk
storage system model, as follows:
ETERNUS Disk storage system
ETERNUS2000
ETERNUS4000
ETERNUS8000
The parameter to be specified is determined by the CPU which is installed in the server to
be connected.
For SPARC
Specify the command queue depth for the "ssd_max_throttle" parameter.
Add this parameter if it does not exist.
set ssd:ssd_max_throttle = 20
For x86
Specify the command queue depth for the "sd_max_throttle" parameter.
Add this parameter if it does not exist.
set sd:sd_max_throttle = 20
After editing the configuration file, save it.
After the setting is complete, check the configuration file for incorrect settings.
Reboot the server.
# /usr/sbin/shutdown -y -g0 -i6
